All word counts are theoretical maximums, assuming every relevant credit is spent on writing in that one mode. Blueprint, Final Read, Coherence repairs, cover art and every other credit-priced action draw from the same balance and reduce how much writing it covers. No credit-priced feature is unlimited on any plan.
Rogue writing uses 10 credits per 1,000 words. Literary/Master writing uses 30 credits per 1,000 words. Literary/Master uses three times as many credits, so it provides roughly one-third the writing capacity for the same balance. Writing is billed in whole 1,000-word blocks, rounded up, so a short piece costs a full block and you need at least 30 credits available to run Literary/Master at all. Actual writing capacity depends on how you use credits across writing and other features.
Free’s 150 welcome credits are granted once per eligible account and are separate from the monthly allowance — they are not re-granted each month. Your 150 welcome credits never expire. 20 credits are added each month and expire at the end of that month — they do not stack up.
An account is required to write. Rogue Pen no longer offers guest or trial writing without signing up. Creating a free account takes a moment, costs nothing, and includes the 150 welcome credits above.
Need additional credits before your next renewal? Purchase permanent credits that never expire — top-ups supplement your plan, they don't replace it. If you're buying top-ups often, upgrading your monthly plan usually costs less overall.
